Appeals

If you have been convicted and sentenced by the Magistrates Court, you have an absolute right of appeal to the Crown Court. If you have been convicted and sentenced by the Crown Court however, you must first seek ‘leave to appeal’ from the Court of Appeal. For both however, strict timescales apply with failure to adhere potentially resulting in any appeal being dismissed before it has even begun.
